    masking unwanted cord on floor

I have a clip that has an unsightly extention cord running across the floor.  Is there a way to mask that out?  Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks.

Post a screenshot if you can.

    Hi Ken,

Depending on exactly what the floor looks like, you may be able to use the clone function of the Paint effect to paint it out.

    good luck,

Not exactly the same problem, but very similair. On a commercial shoot we had a snake handler place a snake in position... the snake moved perfectly for what we wanted, but we have the snake handlers grip extension in shot. Enter After Effects for a marathon (about 3hrs), clone and paint and animate the grain session. Unless you specifically look for it.. you cannot see it.

CLICK ME - keep a CLOSE EYE on the right side of the screen and you will notice a movement. But your focus is on the snake movement and not the unnoticeable one.

If clone doesn't work, when I had that problem last year I exported the footage to eyeon Fusion and five minutes with the wire removal tool did the trick. If you have access to some comparable effects package that may well work for you if the cord is only a few pixels thick.
