We are running 3 new systems and have experienced an issue with all of them.  Since we have had this entirely new setup (3 weeks) 4 times now we have an issue where the editor cannot save some bins. The message reads "Cannot save bin." It gives us the option to create a copy but when we do create the copy the most recent work is not included. The bins are not locked. (actually another problem has been that bins become locked for no reason yet there are no other users in those projects and deleting the .lck files don't help because they instantly become locked again but that's for another thread perhaps). 

So, making the copy of the bin does not help because the most recent work is missing. Using a new Avid User did allow us to save the original bin but it was with that new user that several days later we had the problem again.  We can't keep creating new users because bins won't save.

Anyone else experiencing anything similar?  Thanks.

An update to my post.

The actual error reads "Warning. Bin "testbin" is locked and can't be saved, but you may save a copy."  The problem here is that the bin is not locked. No one else is using it and the locked icon is not lit.

One thing that will getcha is if the bin file names are longer than 27 characters.  there's a setting... i think it's in General to force windows compatable bin names.  this MUST be turned on when using Unity projects.

Thanks for the feedback. We don't have bin names longer than 27 chars. In fact we do have force windows compatable bin names checked. I have since turned on console logging and will analyze that next this happens.

I been experiencing these problem since we upgrade to 3.0.1

put the stuff of the bad bin on a temp bin, close the bad bin, then open and move it back, this time. it will work.

I some times get a similar problem on ISIS with version 2 on PC deleting the user then creating a new one some times works.
