I have a system on our Unity 5 that is constantly scanning and rebuilding it's media databases, causing everyone one else who happens to have those media workspaces mounted, to scan as well. Very frustrating.
Here's what we've tried to remedy the situation:
New user, new computer (MacPro) with new fibre card, updated MCA version, new OS, polished fiber connections, swapped out GBICs on switch, different ports on switch...
We try to curb the scanning by "x"ing out his OMFI folder, but give it a week or so and it's back to scanning. Every new project he touches, it plagues it with constant scanning.
Wondering if anyone has a quick fix or has seen this before.
Are the other machines also intel or perhaps G5's? If you are mixed, or mixing versions of MC on that SAN, you can get that.
Don't trust the internet...
We do have a mixed environment of G5's and Intels, versions of MCA ranging from 2.8.0 to 2.8.3 I believe.
Try rebuilding all database with "msmisonlinefilecheck" set to "true", i know its a long process, but we been to that problem before and that took care of it.
msmisonlinefilecheck can be set to on using "Console"

msmisonlinefilecheck was already enabled...
I guess we need to disect deeper into this.
How many Files do you have per Client Folder?
OMF or MXF?
Unity Server/Client Version?
