I have two Avid Express edit systems (Meridian based - so very old!). They used to be connected to Avid's Unity Server, but that craashed and I've been told isn't worth the money to repair. To keep their interconnectivity we installed a firewire drive, which is causing me no end of grief. Edit on Avid 1 with ingesting media onto firewire drive. Copy project onto same firewire drive (in different folder of course). No problem everything goes in, sequence plays without faltering. Shut down, remove drive and reinstall in Avid 2. Open Avid program, navigate to firewire drive, open sequence. All files show up but the video is offline. Audio plays fine. Tried to relink - no joy. Any thoughts on what's happening? BTW, tried same process going from Avid 2 to Avid 1 and have the same issue, plays okay on #2 but offline on Avd 1. Oh, and don't bother with system specs, that's not this system and the info is outdated.

What if you delete the database files on the firewire drive? And let System 2 rescan it...
