Just discovered this:
Hold Ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel--advance forward or backward one frame at a time.
Hold Ctrl+Alt and scroll your mouse wheel--advance forward and backward 10 frames at a time.
How long has this function been around? I've never noticed/used/found it before. I like it. Now if only Shift+Scroll would zoom in and out of the timeline I'd be in heaven!
Michael.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm using MC 3.0.
Michael:
I'm not in front of my Avid right now, but check your user settings for a "mouse" group that allows you to customize mouse functions. Particularly useful for the Logitech MX Laser.

From a post by Brian Williams from about 4 years back.
"Guys, try holding down the ctrl key with the scroll wheel... it does different things depending on the focus. In trim mode it trims, in the timeline it moves the blue bar, with sliders it will move the slider. If you hold the alt key down at the same time, it will do all of those actions in larger steps.
If there is a gadget that has a up/down/left/right arrow key function, we tried to map ctrl-scroll to do the same thing"
4 years ago?!? Man, that's been under my nose the whole time. I wonder just how many little undocumented features like this Avid has.
Larry--I have the MX Laser mouse. Great mouse, and the button mapping is nice too. I remember when that feature was added--I'd spend some time editing on an MC Adrenaline, then jump back onto a Meridien system and couldn't figure out why I couldn't scroll bins and click the side buttons to access certain commands. It was like working all day, going home, spilling a drink and thinking, "Oops. Oh well, I'll just Ctrl+Z to undo that...".
I had a similar experience recently. A new freelance client brought me in to a MC version 5.0! Boy, if anyone out there wants some perspective on how far Avid has come, no matter how much we all *** and moan today when things don't work, take a step back into this world! You'll really begin to appreciate just how much we take for granted.
Butcher: It was like working all day, going home, spilling a drink and thinking, "Oops. Oh well, I'll just Ctrl+Z to undo that..."
So I'm not the only one to do that then ? ;)
