    Re: Capturing VHS!

so as you can all see this is not a problem that only I think that is abut time that Avid will fix or at least tall as to forget abut this option but we deserve formal answer that Avid will stand behind it as if this will be fix or not .

I sick and tired of getting the same answer that in the next release this will be fix and after a release is issued and there is no fix , they say the same as it will be in the next release,

So Avid support can you get an answer ??????????????????????????????Super Angry

    Hi,

Just to make sure everyone understands, this is a user forum.  If you want an answer from Avid support, you should contact them directly.

    good luck,

    Re: Capturing VHS!

I still capture my analog via Liquid using either the Liquid Pro BOB or my camcorder in pass-thru (OK, it's a blatant plug for Liquid. Smile ).

The real point is if you need pass-thru support, it's easy to find. I think you can do this with Windows Movie Maker.

I understand the rationale behind the lack of support in MC; it was expected that you were using professional cameras and decks and/or film and had timecode available. But now, especially with the drop of price and the incursion of MC into the Prosumer market, MC is going to have to compete against lower-cost products that at least on the surface offer more features. Lack of easy pass-thru support (which will be read as an attempt to sell a costly I/O box for analog support) isn't going to win any converts.

And, hopefully, the New Thinking will start to think about that (and other such minutae).
