    Embedded audio problem

Hi all. I just picked up an AJA D10CEA converter to use with my Mojo SDI. I can get audio from that to my Mackie, but it pops alot. It does not do this when I was using the stereo mini's out of the mojo and into the mixer. Seems like an avid software thing, because the picture, both the SDI and the component, looks great. I've tried all the 4 channel vs. 8 channel options, throwing out my settings, etc. Does anyone have a suggestion? Running MC 2.8 on a MacBook Pro 2.16 w/ Tiger 10.4.11

Popping is almost always sync related in digital audio. That unit doesn't seem to take Blackburst, but I'd check with AJA support and see where it's getting it's sync. Also, you might have a bad box. (aja or avid) Does the mojo sound good going SDI to a deck? And does a deck sound good coming out of the AJA? Those are your next steps.

I don't have a deck to check with, but do you think that hooking up a black burst generator will give me a good chance of dealing with the issue?

If you are not using a reference generator with your system, then yes should hook one up.  They are the master clock everything syncs to.  Without one, you are asking for problems (like clicks in audio).  Good luck.

    Re: Embedded audio problem

Ok so I picked up a Horita BSG-50 and hooked it up directly to the the SDI Mojo cable via the "BL" bnc connector on the back of the Horita. I shut down my computer, and power cycled the mojo. Upon restarting Media Composer the mojo is not showing the ref light on the front. I've read about this problem before but I don't know what the solution is. I don't have a deck to trick the mojo into accepting an outside reference. I also did switch the Sync Lock to reference inside the video output tool. I'm still hearing the original pops, but I doubt the Horita is even reaching the mojo for whatever reason...
