SO...
3.0 and 3.01 MC Mac Machines - all built to spec - on Intel Mac Pros - (I'm seeing this on 20 of them so far )
Full disclosure - We are on non-supported 3rd party fiber storage. (like most of you.)
When playing a 6 to 9 stream multigroup of 10:1m media (MXF) and specifically when we fast forward, we get one of three behaviors: decompstream errors (from crashlog), "a serious error has occurred" or the favorite... MC completely exits to finder.
Anyone seeing these?
Don't trust the internet...
Ok, Update - it is happening on Unity too.
No excuses Tewksbury. ;)
What version of unity? Switch type? 4Gig speed?
Also, is there any hardware included? Mojo/Nitris DX, SDI Mojo, DNA, etc...or only running in MCSoft mode?
And does it happen if the media is running off the internal harddrive?

20 machines - Mojo-SDI, regular Mojo, Adrenaline, MC Nitris DX and MC Soft. lol I have this in 3 locations on all sorts of hardware.
I have no idea about local storage because I can't use local. Avid has this in the lab, if they want to test that, I'd be happy to let them. I'll probably test next week if we get a few minutes.
The Unity is a 4GB Lanshare LP all fiber clients on current Atto cards. The 3rd Party is SATA/Fiber RAIDs running with a q-logic 5600 and LSI cards with the SNS Ellipse deiver and firmware.
Anyone else doing a large multicam show out there?
bump
Bringing this back to the front page. Marianna, thank you, the client got a call back.
This is apparently a known bug on the Mac. PC's don't seem to have this problem. Dog, can you verify that?
I'll make sure and keep this on the front page as a great marketing tool for 3.0 until we see a little movement.
;)
Got a call from a tech from Avid yesterday confirming this bug on the mac, in a 9 frame multicam stream. It is non-storage related and will be fixed in a "not named nor dated" upcoming point release. Until then, reality TV is either mad or on 2.x.
Peace and thanks to Marianna for the attention.
