We just finished a large production where we received a drive filled with files created by an "elvis" playback system. Anybody out there dealt with EVS files transfered to an Avid environment?? thanks in advance. I'll get the drive today to see what flavor but thought I would start the discussion first....OK now discuss

Here's a white paper on evs files. It makes reference to and illustrates a workflow for importing evs files into an Avid workstation.

Wow missed that one...jest what I need (I hope)
Thanks Larry.
You're welcome, Gregg. Let us know how that workflow functions (or malfunctions) when you get into your project.
Well hit a snag. Tried importing the evs mxf files through interplay and tried putting them in an mxf folder...both ways all my avid apps (nitris, MCA, and express pro) all said they did not recognize the file type and questioned whether they were in fact mxf files. I'm gonna contact the elvis operator who made these and see if this is an elvis file flavor issue. We are going to be using files like this more often so I really need to come up with a good workflow (imagine if I had done that before the fact....oh wait that's too forward thinking...too...proactive...gotta react...that I know....)

This most likely is codec related...
