    720P Mojo SDI

    Hi all,

I am about to edit a video shot 720P. I am running Media Composer 3.0, SDI Mojo. I have imported the footage and I can view it fine on my computer editing monitors but it doesn't show on my client viewing monitor. I thought one of the features of SDI Mojo's is that they downconverted HD footage to allow you to view it in realtime on an SD monitor. Is this correct and if so how do I do it?

    Thanks.

    Mike.

    Re: 720P Mojo SDI

Check your video output settings in the tool menu and make sure it is set to SDI. I don't know for sure because I have the regular Mojo (No SDI) and it works with 720p output to NTSC monitor just fine. Make sure you change the Format Type in the format tab to NTSC.

Upgraded to Media Composer from Avid Xpress Pro and now at MC 3.0.5, but had to roll back to 3.0.0. Also added Avid Studio Toolkit 5.7 running on.....HP... [view my complete system specs]

The thing is don't peak too early in life. Currently at MC 3.0

No. It is not correct. The software can downconvert HDV to SD - as instructed - you have to change the format tab.

The only feature of the SDI mojo was that it can capture and output using SDI... enjoy.

...In version 3.0 it can also convert non HDV, such as 720p 29.976 .Avi and QT. I have outputted three projects via my Mojo in NTSC with such non-HDV formats. Simply change the Format Tab in your MC 3.0 . You can even change the Raster Type from HDV to Standard. Before MC version 3.0 only HDV projects could be downconverted by changing the Format Tab to NTSC. Now there are more project conversion choices in MC 3.0. The latest version is really quite good.

    Re: 720P Mojo SDI

I am running 3.0 but I don't have the options in my format tab that you mention. Firstly I am running PAL not NTSC but that should make no difference I would have thought.

I have two options in my format tab Project Type and Raster Type. Project Type is not changable. It only has 720P/50 as an option. Raster Type is switchable between HDV and Standard. In both there are still no pctures on my external monitor. My monitor is connected by component. Does the downconvert only work with SDI?

    Any ideas?

"Does the downconvert only work with SDI?"

No. Works great with original Mojo.

    Re: 720P Mojo SDI

You can't down or cross convert from a 720 / 50p project. Is your source material from a P2 camera? If so use a 720 / 25p project and you will be able to downconvert to PAL and crossconvert to 1080.
