when exporting quicktimes I recently get a bad stutter in the audio, it sounds like having caps lock on and scrolling slowly through a track - every second frame is missing or maybe it´s two on - two off. I put an example with tone media here

I tried setting the project to different sample rates cause I thought maybe sr conversion is hickupping, it helped once and this morning stutter was back. It occurs on exporting qt uncompressed and ima4:1, the compressions I usually use. I got QT 7.4.5. Sometimes playback sounds the same with me, I think it comes from putting the computer into hibernation (which I know is not supported, but well, wont have it run all day when not used and booting takes time, too. I think export is software-only and should not be involved with my sound card?).
My current workaround is to export a wave or aiff and stick it to the video using qt pro...
anyone had this before?
thanks,
thomas
Hi Thomas,
tom_e:I think it comes from putting the computer into hibernation (which I know is not supported, but well, wont have it run all day when not used and booting takes time, too.
If you've noticed that the problem happens after putting the computer into hibernation, and you know putting the computer into hibernation isn't supported, I think you ought not to put the computer into hibernation.
good luck,Carl
There is no such thing as a video emergency. My Demo Website
Hi Carl, I just too late thought about posting that even after a restart the problem is still there, so I don´t think it´s originating from hibernation... Any other guess?
Thomas
I meant the playback stutter that I also sometimes experience comes from hibernation...
am I the only one with this issue?
Depending on the size (frame size and file size) of the QT movie, it may stutter audio and video on PC.
Try reducing the QT player window down to a postage stamp size and see if it still occurs.

Kenton,
it got nothing to do with data rate.
I created tone media using the audio tool and exported that as mov (ima 4:1, should be capable to play that on my pc ), even without video the stutter is there. I posted a link to it in my original post, cause I did not understand how to attach the file to the thread...
any other idea?
bump?
well after a lot of
I went back to quicktime 7.1, now export works...
