The following question came up both on the L2 and here on the forums, and it did not get a definite answer.

Does Symphony Nitris, the non-DX classic original Nitris BOB, work on Vista64?

The ReadMe says the Symph software can run on Vista64. It mentions support for Nitris DX. But it does not specifically say anything about classic Nitris.

Furthermore, are there any specific pros or cons about going Vista64 on my existing SN? I was hoping it will give me a little more RAM.

Some official word on this would be appreciated.

Just got word from Marianna that indeed Symph v3 on classic Nitris is supported to run on Vista64.

And that this will be clarified on the Avid website and possibly the ReadMe for v3 as well.

 So is someone going to do it and get back to us?

Someone might, but needs to find a moment to take the time for it. ;-)

I have recently (last week) gone from v1.7 to v3.0 on a classic nitris BOB on a 8400 on Vista.  Understand that we had issues in HD with XP on a 8200 so we had to go to the 8400....I can't tell you how much happier I am.  while there are some vista irritations (doesn't work with macdrive, a critical need for us since all gfx come from Macs) but the ability to have more ram has eliminated our memory errors, and other errors are dismissable rather than crashable (that may be a 1.7 to 3.0 difference).  HD work seems snapier/faster....redraw of plots is still damnably slow.  I'm still adding my avx's and 3rd parties but so far it looks quite good...

Ouch. That's a big bummer for me. GFX, sound houses, composers: Macs.

the new Macdrive  version 7 now works with vista...Yahhhhhhhh

Specifically, Vista 64-bit.  Still no support for Win XP Pro 64-bit, which all of our DS systems use ... :(
