Rumor is that our favorite viral poster 'Vinko' has apparently been 'arrested'.

Does anyone have any more details?  I'm curious to know why and for what.

No way!  I haven't heard anything about it.  Somebody fill me in.

Hi Carl, well the Google DS List is full of it. 

Apparently he/she just had time to send a one-word post to the list ("Arrested"), and also a Twitter notification.

We don't know much else at this stage other than speculation, but there's plenty of information about 1st Amendment rights, where to get "Right to free speech" lawyers and so forth.

Andrei, people don't post daily with new information (I get the impression that's what you're expecting).  If you have a specific question about DS or any other Avid product and that question hasn't already been addressed in another thread then post your own question.

"Vinko" was a person who posted in every forum here on Avid Community Forums telling us how great Avid products are and that we should all be using them.  The overall tone of his messages came across (to me anyway) as spam and he referred to himself as "viral" poster.  

This particular topic was apparantly created and posted here in the DS forum to let others know of the rumor that had been heard regarding "Vinko". 

I doubt you will ever get any info from this particular thread as it really has more to do with Vinko and not DS.  I guess it would've been better had the original poster placed this message in the General Discussion/Off Topic area, but that's up to a moderator to move it.

Kenton, Andrei is fully aware of who Vinko is.  He is frustrated that his own attempts to emulate Vinko on the Google DS-L were moderated.

His posts in this thread are spurious and specious and I suspect serve no purpose other than to assuage his sulking.

Exciting news about DS will be forthcoming quite soon but as you say, probably not in this thread; the only DS-relevant news in this thread was posed in the OP.
