    Mojo dx

Hi we will be updating our existing 4  Express Pro seats for Media composer 3.0 .

We currently running 4 avid express pro editing systems with 1 mojo sdi and the great thing about it is when ever we need to output a tape we can easily  switch the mojo from one editing suite to another other editing suite.  .

Here's the question with the new Mojo Dx

From what I understand the unit connects to a PCIe x4 slot on each computer  Can I purchase 4 of these cards with 1 Mojo Dx and run it the same way I ran it with the Mojo Sdi .

Can I toss around the Mojo DX from 1 editing suite to another editing suite ?

How much will each extra card cost ?

    Thanks Mike

    Re: Mojo dx

You can with one caveat...in order to pull the Mojo, your computer must be completely shut down before you disconnect it.

As for the price of the card, you'll have to ask your reseller.

In Avid technican class, we inspected the Avid host card, and it seems rather simple.  The host card is definitely made by someone else, and you can get it from your reseller channel.

But I agree with others, it is not "hot swappable".

    Have you considered shared storage?

You name it, I've seen it. [view my complete system specs]

I don't expect the card to be Hot swappable just the Mojo Dx . I'd like to install 4 of the cards in 4 computers and be able to Hot Swapp the Mojo DX .

The Mojo is not hot swappable either. You have to be completely powered down before you pull it.
