Hi,
this has been with me thru MC 2.7.2 and MC3.0.1, and I wonder if it points to a problem more significant than it's irritation factor:
When saving a rolling title, 9 times out of 10 I get the error: "The File 'xxx credit roll' cannot be deleted because it is busy"
So the Title tool remains open, and I then have to close the Title tool WITHOUT saving.
In fact, the first roll (which "cannot be saved") HAS been saved, and will have replaced the old version on the timeline as desired.
The fruity thing is that when this occurs, 3 PICT documents are created within the "Shared Avid Projects" folder on the System drive. They'll be called "xxx credit roll 001568ca.0004", "xxx credit roll 001568ca.0005", "xxx credit roll 001568ca.0006"
After a while the Avid Projects folder is full of these.
Does anyone else get this?
Whats up?
Ninety thousand frames per hour
We get it too on our older MC 2.8/Mojo system. I've got no answer... I just move on and delete the pict files every once and awhile.

I've had this error yesterday for the first time too. Though I've made several rolling credits in the same project before, with no problem. I didn't know about the pix in the Project folder - I'll have to check this out when I'm back in the edit suite. I use a different location for my Avid projects.
On a side note, is there a magic recipe to make nice rolling titles that don't flicker? I use the 'trial and error ' method - changing the lenght, the font size - until they look clean. But a more scientifical approach would be nice.
