Anyone running both PPC and Intel Macs on Unity or ISIS? A few months ago, we tested sharing volumes between both types of computers and experienced volume scanning issues. We just did another test on MC 2.8.3 and things seem to be okay. There is no mention of a fix in the release notes so I am wondering if we are missing something, or if anyone knows that Avid cured the problem. Thanks, jdw
We have 19 Media Composer, mix of PPC, Intel and Windows machine on Unity 5.1 and we experienced that same problem some months back, and here is what we believe that fixed the problem.
•console command: "msmisconlinefilecheck true"•rebuild pretty much all the databases
Theory: when files get modified inside a client folder, and have the Client rebuild the database, it will pull those information out from the cache thats why it takes a lot less time to rebuild pmr and mdb. "msmisconlinefilecheck true" rebuilds the databases base on the "Actual" Files and File counts inside the Client Folder.
And that did the trick.

Thanks for the reply. What version of media composer are you currently on? Have you upgraded MC versions since the initial scanning problems?
unfortunately still with the Slow 2.8.0, will be upgrading this weekend though.
