    rotoscope?

I have a shot with a black mic against a red curtain (and someone walking)...I want to delete the mic.

Is that possible in MC (I also have sapphire plugins installed) or do I need an app like Shake?

I would use the Paint effect in the effect pallet. Depending on the movement in the scene, you can use it to clone a region and hide the Mic. Boris also has a wire removal plug that may be an option.

thanks. I'll give it a try....

importing/exporting in Shake will probably give a loss of quality too?

It shouldn't. Depends on the Codec you use.

    Re: rotoscope?

Is there a workflow or tutorial how to use the paint tool (incl using the tracking tool button?)?

I am as far as painting the mic away from the scene, but cannot seem to find out how use the tracking tool when the camera (i.e. mic) is moving. The avid fx guide is not helping so much either.

    Any help appreciated!

    Hi,

I don't know about the paint tool itself, but there's a free tracking tutorial here:
