    Changing AVID Chassis

     Hi All

One of our Avid drive chassis is giving errors. The chassis has 5 drives (250Gig) in it model RTR. Drives have failed within the chassis few times and we thinking of replacing the chassis to see if the problem re occurs.

What i wanted to know is how to go on about doing the change of the chassis.

    Should i backup media?

Should i be worried about configuring the chassis. I think the chassis is a Raid 5 at the moment.

What i want to do is backup media. Once done, install the 5 drives in the new chassis and boot up computer. Is this the correct way?

    Let me know

Backing up your media is a great idea.  However, it may not be the chassis but rather an individual scsi controller.

I agree with ceffoavid. You may want to look at the controller first. Much easier and more common way to solve AvidRAID failures.
