How do I set up my ethernet client on Lanshare?

I have a Unity Lanshare 4.23 setup, with two fibre-attached XW8400 systems. I also have a MacBook (non Pro) attached to it over Ethernet.

For reasons that shall remain unmentioned I have done a clean install of OSX on that MacBook. I have got the MN_234 installer, and installed the client. I told it to install the ethernet client. I use the login name and password I used to use on the previous install. It brings me to the Configure window, where I have to select/add servers. I type in the same addresses that were there in the previous install (192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.100). It doesn't mount the workspaces, and Manage Connections is greyed out. What have I done wrong here?

I tested the physical connection (I have a bootable clone of the previous OS install), and that works fine.

Any suggestions on this Friday night would be appreciated.

Job,  I've been doing this a long long time,  and one thing I've learned about macintosh ethernet clients on Unity and Lanshare.  They do not F*&king work.

Ethernet support for Macintosh for Unity is a LIE.  It's been a LIE since OS9, and continues to be a LIE today.

Load the MacBook with Windows, and a windows avid, and the windows Ethernet Connection for Unity, and it will be flawless for you.

    Thanks Jeff,

I will consider that. However, the MacBook is mostly used as a Mac bridge. Got 2 other Win systems.

I found that the issue was that my Built In Ethernet settings on the Mac were set to receive an IP from a DHCP server, while it should have a manually set IP adress within the Lanshare's range. Instantly worked.

I have never used it intensively, but it did work the few times that I needed it.

It's the (unsupported) "regular" black MacBook (non-Pro, see OP).

OT: What a giant mistake of Apple in this day and age to name these two products line nearly identical. Try doing a (Google) search on something that is specifically related to the non-pro MacBook.

Just wondering if somebody has already done this before.

a Client of a Unity MediaNet or ISIS connected via ethernet with Bonding/Agg/Bridge

Also bridge both enthernet port on the server side connected on the same VLANs, same switch.

    Ports are all GigE ports

Will this give me more bandwidth?
