Problem with dongle update in MC 3.0

I am running OS X 10.5.1 on Mac Pro 8-core. No Mojo. Uupgrading from Media Composer 2.8, downloaded MC v.3.0, installed, and could not find a dongle updater.  Downloaded both Versioners--no help.  Message says I am not licensed to run this version on my system.  What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    marluc

Did you get your versioner file from avid.com/protect? Have you used it to run the Dongle Manager and update your dongle?

Re: Problem with dongle update in MC 3.0

HI there... I´ve some problems with my update from Xpress Pro to Media Composer 3.0.1.

I´ve done every little thing step by step (or I´m think so) but I´ve this message in the dongle manager

NO DONGLE COMPATIBLE WITH THIS UPDATE FILE FOUND...

    What can I do?

    Thanks in advance!

Greetings BLKDOG!  Yes, I went to avid.com/protect which took me to avid.com/register, where I downloaded both versioners.  They appear as blank documents.  I ran the Dongle Manager, and it appeared to update (or backdate) me to 2.8.

You need to write to warranty@avid.com. The updater for your upgrade is a bit different from the regular upgrade. They need to get you a specific dongle updater file.

They should appear as Blank documents, but they should update you to 3.0...

Please send me your contact info and I will get Avid to fix this ASAP.

I'm having this problem going from 2.8 to 3.0.1. Do I have to do the same thing?

    Thanks

From where did you get your updater file 'Brick?

Did you make sure and register your version of 2.8.x first?

Re: Problem with dongle update in MC 3.0

Yes  the 2.8's were registered when I purchased the boxed upgrades and then actually did the upgrades back in May. I downloaded the 3.0.1 upgrade, and the .avd file didn't work. I tried downloading the versioneer file from the 3.0 upgrades at the top of the page, but realized that was just for the Leopard upgrade. I'm stumped.
