Media Composer lagging on MacBook Pro

I'm editing on a MacBook Pro, 2G RAM, GRaid FW 800 external dedicated drive, 120GB boot drive.

The system is lagging, very slow. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to improve performance.

My external drive is only 1/3 full.

    thanks

Re: Media Composer lagging on MacBook Pro

    Hi there,

Don't know if this will help... I've got a MBP, 4GB RAM... when I use a fw (400) drive things can lag badly, when I'm capturing from a tape camera, and things can lag a bit in editing.  I've switched to eSATA for most of my editing, and that works much better.
