We are shooting a project using the Phantom HD cam capturing to a drive a 1080p for playback at 24fps.
The clips on the drive will be transferred to HDCAM SR tape for the online and DIGIBETA for the offline (me).
This is where a 23.976p project would be ideal if I'm not mistaken? Then I can just shoot EDLs to the post house to use with their SR tape?
Am I oversimplifying this?
I was going to attempt to import the .cci files into a 1080p project, but I won't have time to test the workflow until I'm under the gun.
Thanks!
Yes. You will want to edit at the native frame as shot to avoid +/- 1 frame adjustments in online.

What if there is 60i HD-CAM footage thrown into the mix? A lot of it.
Also, why does the PULL DOWN light not come on when capturing in a 23.976 project? I am really not getting it, sorry.
If you are mixing in interlace sources, then edit in a 1080i project. There is no pulldown in 23.976 as it refers audio since the picture is 23.976 and the audio is always 48kHz. In a true 24.000 project such as NTSC, there is no true 24,000 format and the 23.976 of video sources needed to have the .99/1.00 applied to maintain audio sync.
Unless you are referring to the picture cadence.
