I've seen Colorista recommended as a color correction addin for MC and AXP. But I've also read that it doesn't do secondary color correction with an eyedropper sampling the color to change. Instead a shape is drawn around the area to change.
Am I mistaken, does Colorista do "real" secondary color correction?
And, are there any other color correction addins that you prefer?
THANKS MUCH!
The ability to apply secondary color controls is claimed by 3PRONG. It's, arguably, I suppose, competitive with Colorista and I prefer it.

I've been using several programs myself trying to achieve an acceptable secondary color correction. After viewing the tutorial on the Magic Bullet website concerning secondary color correction inside After Effects, I've had some luck with it and also had some luck using the AE motion tracker with the power masking feature inside Colorista.
I also ordered the Boris Continuum training DVD by Steve Bayes and have been working with Pixel Chooser and Mattes to perform secondary color correction but still need a lot more practice before I feel comfortable with both of the programs. Most of my secondary color correction involves head shot interviews where I only have to lower the brightness of the backgrounds a touch. Still anyone out there that has had experience doing secondary color correction with any of these programs; your input would be greatly appreciated
BCC correct selected allows for one to perform a secondary color correction. Also using the view type and setting it to color matte you can use it to create a matte if you only want one color to show etc.....

Have you used Boris Red as well? I'm interested how much more useful it is than Continum Complete. I've looked at the comparison on their website, but user observations are always nice to read.
Are there any PC equivalents to Apple Color? Anyone use Color Finesse 2 as a plug-in?
You could use Color Finessse in Avid by installing Elastic Gasket, but the company has closed shop.
I've also read you can use Boris to run Color Finesse in Avid. But I don't know if Continuum Complete or Red will do the trick.
The answer is easy.
Because both BCC and Boris Red (aka Avid FX) is included in MC3, you will already have them if You bougth MC3 in a box. And if You don't, You can buy them at a low price at Avids webshop.
I'm a teacher, so I use the Academic version, which doesn't come w/ Boris.
BTW, I believe I'll need to get a standalone Boris offering, like Red or FX to get Color Finesse to work with Avid. I don't believe BCC can host After Effects plugins.

UPDATE!
Guys, I decided to order this. Everywhere on the site said it cost $99, however when I actually went to pay for it was told there was a Sale Price and it was now $49! Not bad, so get in there quick if you want it.

If you live outside the States pick 'Downloadable' as delivery method. They wanted to charge me $90!

Thanks, I just ordered the BCC and Red training. THANKS again!
BMF,
A lot of different things are called secondary color correction. It can be color isolation (for purposes of adjustment or color replacement). It can be full screen. It can be windowed - square, rectangle, circle, oval or custom-drawn ("power windows"). Colorista does full screen or square/rectangle/oval/circle windows (not custom). You can achieve "power windows"-style secondary results in Media Composer by duplicating the clip onto a higher track, using Animatte tools to isolate an area within the clip and applying different correction to that area.
