    RS-422 deck control

Picked up a used PC Xpress Pro 5.6.4.  It didnt come with a deck controller.  I looked at my Media Controller system and I have a Addenda Rosetta Stone RS-2/8 on it.  From articles on the net, this seems like the right unit for the Xpress Pro.

I Googled Addenda, links show up, but when you click them the website never loads.  B&H Photo doesnt list the product, I could not find it on the Avid Products sales page, etc......Addenda's products seem to have fallen into a black hole.  Am I missing something?  Is there another product that they switched to?  Did the company fold?

Any help would be appreciated, so that I can spit video out to a beta-sp deck.

Did you use http://www.addenda-elect.com/ when you were trying to find them?  It works for me.

    Re: RS-422 deck control

Well Im cursed!  I tried it on my laptop at home, had my wife try it on her laptop at home.  I tried it at the office on my laptop [different wi-fi connection], had one of my clients try it on her laptop on the office wi-fi, and finally, tried it on an office desktop WIRED into my server.

They all come back with a 'cannot connect' server message.  I did a Google for the company address and just called them.  It is past work hours, but at least a machine picked up....dont know why this is such a hassle to buy a $100 cable.

$100, should be $29 or $68 if you get the usb one.  Seriously, I just connected to the site, so maybe you are cursed, but buy direct from them.  You won't find it for less anywhere else.
