I'm getting Access Violations on 2 of our Avid MC Adrenalines. Just now I tried to launch a job I've been working on all day and got one. We have a Terrablock 8XS. I looked at the posts about this usually being a permissions issue and followed someone advice about going to the Security\Owner tab and selecting "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects". When I do this under my log-in, which has admin rights I get a message:
"You do not have permission to read the contents of directory Device\HarddiskVolume4\System Volume Information. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permission granting you Full Control" All permissions will be replaced if you say Yes."
Under the Permission for Administrators all "Allows" are checked except "Special Permissions" in greyed out.
So should I say "Yes" to the above message. I'm affriad.
Here's the report:

Thanks, and sorry for using an emoticon, I couldn't resist after seeing some of todays posts.

Here's a link regarding setting permissions. Hopefully, it'll help you sort things out.

Thanks Larry but I don't think that's the issue. With a Terrablock you create a virtual drive for each job and all the permissions are set-up. I'm getting these errors on jobs that I've opened, worked on many times and then all of the sudden it sends out these messages. After I made the first post today and closed MCA, and then reopened the job and it launched just fine.
We've been using the Terrablock for about 4 months but these virtual drives are new to us. But we're also having these errors on an Avid with an Avid JOBD 4TB Raid, not just on the Terrablock...on 2 Avids. Beside permissions is there any more data in that report that would indicate anything else?
Is it worth trying to contact Avid support? I have 2 assurance contracts but man it's like calling the IRS.
Anyone else there with a Terrablock seeing these errors or is this just an Avid "feature" that everyone experiences from time to time?
