Is out and I was wondering if it was safe but also does it do anything about the firewire issue. It states nothing in the read me. Just curious

There is nothing in the update to address the FW issue.
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

Thanks for staying on top BLKDOG, i'll be hangin on for the breaking news.
I'm running it on my Symphony now. I'll report if anything goes pear shaped.
What firewire issue?
Avid's particular method of delivering packet information via FW revealed a bug in Apple's FW bus. It prevents the DNA products from working with Leopard. The bug did not exist in Tiger.
Blkdog, do you think it must be somewhat platform specific? I have been editing for over a week now using a combination of my 17" MBP and G5 Quad with an analog Mojo and have had no issues other two error messages that didn't even require a software reboot. If fact, i think on the whole, 3.0 has been pretty reliable.
During beta, some of us had this error all the time and some very little so I really don't know.
So is it safe to update?
So far, so good. No problems in the last couple of days.
Which version of QT are you testing with 10.5.4?
I haven't moved off of 7.4.5 yet.
Hey There,
Hate to be a pest but is there an ETA on the fix with the Firewire issue? Alot of Mac Pro's are only coming with Leopard installed and even if you out in a Hard drive with Tiger as the OS the Mac Pro's wont read them? Trying to use a Mac Pro as an assist station but constantly having to reboot after every 10 to 15 clips via firewire makes a 60min dig about 90 mins
No. No ETA.
So has anyone tried running MC 3 with 10.5.4 AND Quicktime 7.5????
It seems that this thread is saying that 10.5.4 will work but has there been issues already noted about Quicktime 7.5?
