Okay, I know there are probably tons of post regarding this topic. But, can I load Avid Exp using a Dongle on my MacBook Pro when running Leopard?
Does the Exp have to be a certain version.
Thank you very much.
There is no version of 'Pro that is supported on Leopard. A few folks here have loaded it and gotten it to work but you definitely can't use a Mojo with it.
And yes, this is all over the boards. Just type Leopard in the search box above.

Xpress Pro doesn't run on Leopard. You need to have Media Composer 3.0
I'm running XPro 5.8.0 on my MacBookPro (Leopard) right now. You may want to follow this thread:

Considering coming over to Mac in order to run Media composer on a laptop side-by-side with another Mac user - but as a lifelong PC person to date, it's a little confusing. Is it right that 'Leopard' is OS 10.5 and 'Tiger' is OS 10.4? And if you were starting from scratch, which would you go for?
Machine-wise it's MacBook Pro, presumably no other confusing choices to make - but any tips, do's or don'ts about specification? The 17" must be nicer to look at, but does it overheat more? Presumably battery runs down more quickly than the 15", or not? I'm almost more concerned with weight and running time than way more size.
Would love to hear any personal experiences or recommendations - thanks

Yes.

I'd say Leopard with the MC-Upgrade
Leopard is pre-installed on all new MacBook (Pro). A "downgrade" to Tiger seems to be possible but a hassle.

My choice was the 15" Model due to weight and transportability. If you travel a lot (especially like me with a bike and the laptop-bag on your back) the 17" Model is a pain.
You may put some additional RAM into the machine. But the 2 GB is good enough, I think.
You'll love it.
Dear Kaiser - that is very helpful and yes I am a cyclist too. Though I use Ortlieb rack-mounted panniers since hitting 50! Presumably some extra RAM is easier to specify now than add later (I hear that Macs are harder to work on yourself than, say, a Dell)
Thanks again!
