I am trying to capture from a DVX-100 into a SD 23.976 project. With the camera connected to a MOJO SDI I must now click the DNA button to switch to 1394 mode. I didn't have to do this with my old MOJO. I can capture normally for about 5 to 20 secs and then the audio just drops out. I can watch the timeline audio meter and it will go blank at this point. If I stop and restart the capture, then it begins capturing normally again until the drop occurs. I was able to get it capture for about 20 minutes at one point but I did not do anything except stop and restart the capture. I have since installed a new boot disk in my system (see specs) and started with an HP recovery image as a starting point. After installing MC3 from scratch ensuring that I have QuickTime 7.4.5 and all other requirements met, I retried capturing but had the same results!
Anybody have any ideas on what to try next?
Keith
Mojo SDI does not have the DV codec hardware. The firewire port is basically a pass through port now. Try disconnecting your Mojo SDI and connecting the cam/vtr straight to your PC.

Thanks Dom, your suggestion pointed me in the right direction. As it turns out the issue was the a PA997A firewire card. I just added this card to satisfy the requirements listed in the new MC3 xw8400 requirements pdf. Now I'm not sure if the card is bad, or if there are special setup requirements such as interrupt, etc., or if I really don't need it because I"m not using SDI. My thinking for getting SDI was for the ability to go digital out to a HD 1080p projector that supports SDI. I didn't realize that the DV features would disappear. So right now I'm feeling particularly stupid for buying the $3999.00 MC 2.7 upgrade in Dec 2007 which missed the rebate cutoff by a few weeks, and it included a swap out to the Mojo SDI version which removes the DV features I need.
I wish Avid would consider offering a trade-in incentive for upgrading to Mojo DX/Nitris. They offered one for Mojo SDI, so I was very suprised and disappointed when they didn't offer one for Mojo DX/Nitris. It's still hard to imagine that I upgraded into a deadend just 6 months ago, and at a high premium.
