My First Big Theatrical Feature Film

    Hey Everybody,

If you happen to see Wall-E this weekend (in the United States), keep an eye out for a trailer for a film called, "The Perfect Game." I cut the film and it'll be opening across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico on August 8th. It's my first major theatrical, so I'm dying for some feedback.

I didn't cut the trailer, but I'm excited that they're finally promoting the movie. And placement in front of Wall-E seems pretty good, too. We've only got 2200 trailers out there, so it's not being shown at every Wall-E location, but a good number of them.

Anyway, if you see it, let me know what you think. And put August 8th on your calendars. "The Perfect Game," is really a good movie for the whole family. I'm so excited!

    Yes...way to go Chris!

I believe that's the story about the Mexican team that won the US little league championships...right?

Re: My First Big Theatrical Feature Film

    Thanks guys!

Yes, it's based on a true story about a Little League team that came up from Monterrey, Mexico, in 1957 and became the first foreign team to win the World Little League Championship. The kid who pitched the championship game threw a perfect game, which remains the ONLY perfect game ever thrown--to this day--in a Little League Championship game.

    It's really a neat story.

Just like in the movie, dreams really can come true. A little bit of talent, a whole bunch of perspiration, throw in some luck and, yes, meeting some of the right folks, and I've finally got a movie up on the big screen that my family and friends can enjoy. If you dream of cutting, guys, then just keep at it. I didn't even touch an Avid until 2003 or 2004 -- I came from Digisuite products and the Amiga. But Avid's tools have opened doors for me that I never dared imagine back then.

    Thanks Avid!

    Congrats, Chris!

Hope I'll be able to see it on this side of the water someday.

BTW: funny how relative numbers are. The Netherlands doesn't have anywhere near 2200 screens, 300-400 trailers would make for a pretty wide release over here...!

There's now a sort-of-decent quality copy of the trailer online at:

Hopefully it'll show up on the Quicktime site soon as well.

The film itself looks very nice Chris. I'm not a big fan of the trailer. Looks like an action/adventure producer was asked to make a drama trailer.

Yeah, I think Lionsgate is venturing into fairly new territory with a 'G' rated family drama -- it's a far cry from their usual horror / action fare. Thanks for the kind words about the movie though. It really is a neat story, with a lot of emotional impact.
