    mouse mapping

Does anyone know how to correctly or specifically map the scroll wheel on a Logitech MX Revolution?

I really want it to map the scroll up to "more info"

and scroll down to "less info".

I tried some different combinations in avid mouse settings, mapping menu to button and logitch's control center interface, but i can't seem to get it to work.

I think this is very useful, not having to go to the keyboard when showing more/less info (zooming in and out of the timeline).

I used to use the Autohotkey(freeware) to do it when i was on a PC, but now i'm on a mac, and my editing speed is slowing down.

    Thanks

If you are talking about the timeline zoom, I have that mapped to my keyboard. Not sure about mapping a mouse.

    Re: mouse mapping

    BLKDOG,

I have that mapped to my keyboard as well. But what i'm referring to is in fact mapping to the scroll wheel of the mouse with the more/less detail (command-] and command-[.

Not having to use the keyboard for this function or move your mouse on the scale bar( and move it in and out) makes me a faster editor.

    Thanks

Yeah, we're talking about the same thing. Don't know how to mouse map though. I don't do a lot of that. I use a Wacom tablet.

    Re: mouse mapping

    Gotcha,Thanks,

I really like being able to map different keystrokes to the mouse, like: play, render, move forward/back a frame, etc..

they all work fine, except this.

    hi grata,

I don't know if you succeeded in mapping the timeline bigger/smaller feature to your mouse, but it seems you got quite a few other commands onto it.  Would you mind telling me how I might go about doing this?  I've got quite a few buttons on my Logitech Revolution, and would like to be able to get Avid to play, and stop (and maybe a few other things; any suggestions?) from my mouse.

    Thanks, Malcolm

    Re: mouse mapping

    Hi again,

I see the Mouse Settings pane, but I can't (using the Command Palette) seem to re-assign any of the three Mouse Buttons (3, 4. or 5).  Ironically, two of them are already set to make the timeline bigger and smaller (they're not marked do this, but this is what they do).

just to say that I managed to assign two actions (play and pause) to my mouse, using my mouse preferences... Malcolm
