Hang tight Moses...I've contacted Marianna and she's on the way.....
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

Problem solved:
Again received a mail from reseller "A":
So, jetzt ist es "amtlich", ging schneller als wir dachten: das SW Upgrade für Adrenaline ohne Support Vertrag, mit 3rd party SW, kostet EUR 370,- netto und kann ab jetzt bestellt werden. Besgte Grüße,
Now we have it "official", worked out quicker then expected: the software update for adrenline without support contract, including the 3rd party software costs € 370 excl VAT and can be order now.
A miracle or what? So I hope, that my problem is solved. Let's see how the XDCAM support works, as our new camcorder should arrive tomorrow!
With many thanks - Moses
Great, glad you are on the launch pad. Let us know if you need anything else along the way.
BTW...the quick about face was a result of Marianna making a call across the pond to give the resellers a heads up as to what they should be selling. Another reason she's the glue holding this ship together.
Hi I just received an offer for upgrading my avid adrenaline.... and what do you know. The same info you got at first. So I forwarded the URL of this thread to my reseller... lets see what happens.
Furthermore they informed me that avid MC v3 only works with Media Networks 5.1 and I need to update my Lanshare. I forwarded them the v3 readme which states that v3 works with MN 4.1.6 and 4.2.3.... 5.0 and I guess 5.1 lets see....
In this case it seems avid is giving conflicting info to its resellers. The part number given by marianna could not be found by my reseller.... Avid what's going on?

A.V.I.D....... Another Version In Development
Please don't lay this at Avid's feet. If you work with resellers for any length of time, you find out that they are as bad about reading release notes/sales sheets as some users are.
More than likely, this reseller just hasn't bothered to find out what's available. Granted, it changes pretty quickly, especially with Avid responding to some of its customers as quickly as they have but it's still the reseller's job to stay current.
BLKDOG:but it's still the reseller's job to stay current.
exactly! especially if I (the customer) ask the reseller for this update, I can't believe getting the wrong answer 2 times. even after telling the RESELLER his order numbers!
I ordered the update on monday afternoon - giving the deal to my "reseller B".
Our PDW-700 camcorder arrived today - producing very nice pictures. Now I'm waiting impatiently for MC 3.0, as I've not been able to import the hires clips into MC 2.7.3 (but I'll keep trying until 3.0 arrives).
Regards - Moses
Ok I had telephonic contact again with my reseller and he confirmed that all things mentioned in this thread are indeed thru. But he could not send a new offer as Avid could not confirm in writing????
Now the Avid guys will arrive on monday for a demo.... so I'll hear them out and let you all know.
jveekeres:my reseller ... confirmed that all things mentioned in this thread are indeed thru. But he could not send a new offer as Avid could not confirm in writing????
I think that you need to find a new reseller!
Yep. Email me if you don't get exactly what you want. If you have any trouble at all, we'll get Marianna to see what she can do.
If you read back your own posts and see that you wrote true.. as thru... shame on me. ...........................................................
If changing reseller were an option..... but my personal contact at my reseller is good. The policy of the company he works for is my problem.... Resellers re-sell. That's what they do.. Anything else... like service.. they might.... It's outside this topic but this is exactly where my problem is with avid. We talk and talk and talk and talk and write and read about using avid qualified workstations on this forum... but what about qualified reselleres?
Hello again,
we received our software package today. I just installed MC 3.0 having no problems at all. BUT:
I just tried to start a project using XDCAM HD media. Importing the proxies works fine, editing to. But when I come to the point, where I want to batch import the high resolution media, I receive the message:
The file format of "C0012.MXF" is not supported for import.
As BLKDOG mentioned MC 3.0 should be able to handle the XDCAM HD 422 clips. Where's the error? Any good ideas - otherwise I start getting mad
Thanks for your inputs - M.
What's the data rate of the XDCAM HD media?
35Mb/s or 50 Mb/s ?
I don't think MC can handle 50Mb/s.
the data rate is 50 MB/s, but if you take a look at the 2nd post of the thread, BLKDOG says:
XDCAm's 35mb resolution became supported in the x.8.3 releases. Now, both resolutions are fully supported. 3.0 give you the ability to mix thin and standard raster HD formats in one timeline.
So a) he's wrong b) I do something wrong c) anything else?
I just hope, it's B and there's a simple answer....
Uh...I said 35mbs. I never said anything about 50. In XDCam, 25mbs and 35mbs are supported datarates.
