How can I get it? I called Boris first, I explaing them, they said "ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM this is avid's problem we can not be responsable for this mixtake" than I CALLED AVID AND THEY SAID ITS NOT OUR PROBLEM beacause we send the package complete. What DO I NEED TO DO? I ALREADY PAID $295 TO UPGRADE TO AVID XPRESS VER. 5.8 NOW I PAID THE UPGRADE $ 495 TO MEDIA COMPOSER AND ITS NOT COMPLETE , PLEASE GIVE ME A SOLUTION , OR DO I HAVE TO BUY IT AGAIN . I NOTICED THAT THERE IS ANOTHER UPGRADE AVID V. 3.0 I DOWNLOADED IT AND I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, PLEASE HELP.
This is a list for what I paid for:
I did not get my Avid FX v5.8 (Universal Mac and PC)
Actually I get the older version of the other software . please help me I cannot work without AVFX
VERY IMPORTANT TOOLS.
vdomazy:I made the order to Videoguys
I think that if this is the MC2.8 boxed upgrade, it did not come with Avid FX. This was included with the boxed upgrade of MC3.0. As for BCC 4.2.2 you can download it from the avid download center once you register.
It appears you have been reading the third party additions for MC3.0 boxed upgrade.
Steve.
You got the old package I just received my update with all the correct third party apps less the USB Dongle which is mentioned but I'd say that's a typo seeing you update you're existing dongle...
Give them a call....

I don't think the MC 2.8 update came with Avid Dvd which he clims to have so something funny here. Also why didn't you just upgrade via the web direct from the Avid Store?
Hi JVR, You are correct, Avid DVD by Sonic is only available with MC3.0. MC2.8.1 came with Sonic DVDit 6. He may be confusing MC3 online additions with a box 2.8 version.
Steve
Firstly, I think that if you were buying the 2.7/2.8 upgrade the discs you have received are correct.
I have them in front of me now.
In the 2.7 boxed version are among the others "Sonic DVDit 6, Installer disc 6.2"
I also have the MC3 box in front of me. In that box is "Avid DVD by Sonic v6.0"
In neither box is there a "DVD by Sonic 6.2"
Both boxes came over to me in Japan from the USA.
As far as I see from other posts those who upgraded to MC3. via the download, did not get any of the newer versions that are in the Boxed product. (That is being discussed in other threads).
If I had been in your shoes and received what you did - I would also be seeing red UNTIL I took a deep breath and realised that I had actually received what I had ordered - the 2.7/2.8 version!
It is one of those sad facts of the modern age that anyone buying anything that is constantly developing, risks buying a version of a product which is replaced the next day by another, newer version.

Douglas
PS. there must still be quite a few boxes of MC2.7 out there on the shelves. I am sure that others will meet the same situation as you, unfortunately, did

No that's only true if you buy from a reseller because when I received mine the third party apps sleeve seal was broken so I prosume that the old apps where then changed to the newer ones by the Avid store....
Hi Guys thanks to all of you for your help, but may be I did not expliant myself clear, I upgrade from xpress pro to media composer I received my package WITH THE VERSION 2.8.1 including other software that already mentioned them , the only one than I did not received was AVID FX SOFTWARE. I NOTICED THAT THE NEW VERSION 3.0 OF AVID INCLUDES THE NEW VERSIONS , NOW ALL I WANT IS MY AVID FX SOFTWARE , BECAUSE I DONT HAVE AVID EFECT PLUG INN , FOR transtiones , Titles , and special efects. thats why I need to know what I have to do , I donot like the idea that I have to buy another upgrade and pay again $495 dls . it shouldn't be fair . please somebody from Avid Help Marianna please let me know what to do.
JVR,
There are also people called "Customs and Excise" who have a habit of looking inside packets.I don't know the rules in the country involved in this case.
It is just a fact of life that when you buy something, you are always taking a chance that a newer, better one is going to be on sale next day.
I, for one, have e.g. bought a Canon EOSwith a 200mm Zoom lens as an extra bonus.3 days later it was being sold at a 10% discount and a 300mm zoom lens instead.I have had dealings with Videoguys on a few occassions, and I have never had any problems with them.Their business depends on their good reputation. I don't see them sending anything other than that which had been ordered. If the order was for MC 2.7, then the box was delivered with the correct extra discs.Regards

vdomazy,
MC2.8 has never been offered with AVID FX.As you point out, the boxed MC3 has AVID FX included. But I can't follow your reasoning that Avid is owing you AVID FX, because you bought an earlier version of MC.
Hi vdomazy, Avid FX was not supplied with the boxed 2.8.1 upgrade. I know because I got that one. MC3.0 does come with Avid FX if you purchase the full upgrade incl. third party software. There are two downloads on Avid's Store. One only includes the Avid MC software, the more expensive download includes the new third party(e.g. Avid FX, BCC5.03, Sorensen Squeeze5, etc). Or you can order the boxed upgrade through Avid suppliers and get the same thing.
Unfortunately you like many others bought the boxed upgrade to v2.8. Avids reward to you for your early support in purchasing their new product was to give you already out of date 3rd party software and to exclude Avid FX altogether. My thoughts and those of others on this matter in line with 'new thinking' are wel documented on another thread.
The deal we were sold was that qwe could go from AXP v 5.8 to V 3.0 for $495 whether we purchaes v2.8 or not, basically we were reassured that there was nothing t o worry about in purchasing early.
It seems Avid, although aware of our concerns, are not prepared to put this right. We just have to accept the fact that buy giving our early support we have about £1000 less of software than those that were not prepared to part with their cash earlly. Let's just say i won't forget this in a hurry.
As for the arguments that have been put forward about bthat's life prices change, I disagree as we we have all ended up with V3.0 for $495 and were lead to believe by Avid that there was nothing to fear in an early purcahse - obviously they don't consider £1000 of TP software to be relevant.
I reluctantly accept that they are not prepared to do anything about this - in view of their silence, but to not even get an expanation as to why all ready out of date software was bundled with 2.8 but not with 3 in my view stinks. In my view 'newthinking' basically means Oh look we've brought out some new hardware - I see very little evidence to the fact that they are listening.
Happy days
Graham

Thanks for the rant but I'm not the one complaining
I received my goods in good order and I know how to read the fine print I was also one of the few that held out knowing that MC 3.0 would come with later version 3rd party apps.....Read here.

And as for my package the outer case or box was shrink wrapped so I'd say that the supplier in this case is the only party that could have opened the software sleeve seeing it had the factory seal...And for you're dealings with the goodguys well good for you but I never mentioned their name.

My apologies for "the rant".
It was not supposed to be a rant, but I made the big mistake of not reading the posts carefully before I replied. Thus mixing up posters and posts.
