HI there,
Two strange things are happening in my current edit, which didn't happen when I was editing last week, with footage from the same camera.
I'm not able to add a 'Glow' effect: it used to just be there, in full glow, when I dragged it onto a shot (or a portion of a shot) in the timeline; I just had to tinker a bit with the Intensity. Now it seems I'm presented with a much more complicated Effect Editor, but nothing I've tried with this actually adds a glow, or anything else. Any suggestions?
Also: I keep getting an error message saying: Exception: DecompStreamLongGOPFrame error setting decode params, status 1", which causes video playback to stop. This seems to happen when I add a video effect.
Anyone know how I can stop this from happening? And suggestions would be appreciated.
Long GOP might refer to my Sony EX1 files, which I've imported as mxf files, at DNxHD115.
Other hardware/software: MacBook Pro, 4GB RAM, Leopard, MC 2.8.3

I thought Leopard was 10.5? MC 2.8.3 supports OS X 10.4.11 but not 10.5
Am I mistaken?

No, you are right. 2.8.3 is not supported on Leopard. Could account for the strange errors you haven't seen. MAybe not but it's hard to say with unsupported configs.

thanks for the replies... the funny thing is, I've been editing away quite nicely until now... with no changes to my configuration.
And today it's not exporting (still a long-GOP problem of some sort, although, as I say, I've been using long-GOP files successfully until now).

By the way, I managed to get rid of the error message, at least temporarily, by quitting and relaunching. I plan to update to v.3 very soon.
