This morning I left my deck running and Avid capturing into a new project. I only have one bin in the project. I consolidated and moved some earlier captured footage from that bin to another project, so now the bin is empty.
My problem is that when I came back to check on the progress, my camera had run out of batteries, I got the usual keep/discard error message, along with a couple of others. Usually this is no problem as the footage is just sitting there in the bin albeit incomplete.
However there was no footage there, I went to my other project where i moved the original clips from that bin to, thinking that maybe somehow it had captured to that project; to no avail.
I'm wondering if I can retreive this footage somehow or whether it is lost and I have to capture again?
Hi, open the Media Tool, select the drive you were capturing to and "All Projects". See if the clips are in there, identifying them by creation date and time. If so just drag them to a bin. If not I think you'll have to recapture.

Go into your Avid Attic files and find the appropriate bins for each project. You can copy these bins to the desktop, change the extensions to .avb and use the open bins command to open them inside a project. Just do not have an original bin with the same name as the Attic bin open at the same time.

cool thanks guys, I'll give those a try
I tried the media tools solution and couldn't see the files, I wanted to try the 'Avid Attic' as well but I don't know how to access this.
How do I get into avid attic?
cheers
I believe the path is C:\program files\Avid\Avid Attic. If that's not correct, just do a search for "Avid Attic" and the system will define the path for you.
If you didn't see them in the media tool it's unlikely bringing in bins from the Attic will help.
