Hi
I'm sure this is a basic one but I'm stumped. I'm trying to export a QT reference but my export is coming out with the strange 'line' effect which I'm fairly sure is to do with field order. Excuse my lack of knowledge on this one but if any could help me out I'd be very grateful! Can I adjust QT reference settings?
Thanks in advance!
define "line effect" and how you are seeing this?

yeah sorry its vague. When I check it back in QT player its around any area with motion, the movement causes the image to shift into... almost like a venetian blind effect. Is that a bit clearer?
yeah much but it is pretty common to see this.. if the QT is good as in there are no: A mixed resolutions on the timeline and B: no fillers (gaps) then you should be fine with the final encoding. QT is a horrible interlaced video playback enigine
great! Thank you so much for your help, much appreciated!
Just a quick note. For American NTSC, the field order for export should be even (lower) field first. This is especially true for exports destined for enhancement in After Effects and subsequent re-import back into an Avid project.
