I have not been having a problem until recently. the last time i opened up my avid media composer project, 2 of the bin files that are inside the project folder are no showing up inside the program. is there anything i can do to remedy this. any suggestions would be helpful. thank you very much.
Please provide full system specs, including versions. Where are the project files stored on your system?

i actually was able to see the bins again because i just didnt think to do open bin and click on the bin file but it still wont show up just normally so ill just create a new bin and drag the stuff in i guess. but just in case my system specs are
intel quad core 6600
nvidia 8800gt (i know i should have a quadro im looking into it ha)
4 gigs ram
windows xp professional
sound blaster xfi gamer
abit ip35 pro mobo
You can always check your Avid Attic files for that particular project and find back up copies of your missing bins there. Then copy those bin files to your desktop, change the extensions to .avb and use the open files command to open them inside your project.

Do those bins come from another project aka did you copy them into the project? Still seems like a rights management issue or the bins aren't in the right place.
Maybe the cleaner took them!
