Is it the rock solid App we've all been waiting for?
Is it quicker?

Speaking for my shop...absolutely. It's like having a Meridian again
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

Works mostly well for me - except for the JVC 720 issue - no other complaints.

MC 3.0 is working just fine for me. Boris Continuum, RED and Genarts Sapphire are behaving very nicely. And this is with the original MOJO running on a dual-quad-core PC with Windows XP PRO SP-2.
Thank you AVID!

Do you have any DX hardware or are you still using your Adrenaline?

Check da specs a the bottom of 'da post!
Oops, been working too long!
First impressions, after a disastrous initial install attempt, are good. Running like a top on a WinXP SP2 box with Adrenaline. Definitely snappier performance. Much faster renders. Loving the TC burnin tool. Will be testing it more in the next weeks, but I'm impressed so far.

What's the issue with it? It's advertised to work with 720p24 footage now. Did I hear wrong?
Hi All,
This new gear is great and I love it-- it is our first upgrade since meridien on pc.
I'm not the installer or admin, nor should I be but I was wondering about those 8 cores and out of curiosity checked out the Processing window (ctrl+alt+delete) while waiting out a 48+ minute QT import (it did not Fast Import) of a 20+ minute movie file encoded with QT DNxHD 145). There only seemed to be one core (the first) )showing processing activity and I was wondering if this is normal or does this brand new system need some opimization to take advantage of all that horsepower.
Thanks for any insights!
so far so good - getting into some heavy lifting and applying MB looks today - feeling like this is gonna go smooth based upon prelim tests over the past few days - I likle it - it feels snappy

The thing is don't peak too early in life. Currently at MC 3.0
Tele,
We spent a lot of time working on multicore scalability but there are some areas that we just cannot parralelize - like QuickTime.
There are other aspects that become bottlenecks, like disk I/O, buffers and older SD codecs which have not been multithreaded for compression.
I think you will see that we did make major improvements, though, especially in HD workflows.

I have a finicky qualified system that just never ran right with XP Pro. MC Soft 3.0 has been rock solid (so far) and perceptibly faster. Makes me wonder if it had been my XP software all along. Only issue so far is that my Trapcode Shine plug in doesn't work.
Best, Tony
