    A list of specific "reports" would be helpful.

     I will try to get some. The editor here says his friend "built some systems" and was already getting issues. I have no real data but I was about to buy one and this gave me pause. I wanted to see what others had to say?

    I'd ask if it's an Avid certified rig or a DIY computer.  If it's not exactly to Avid spec, I'd take anything the editor's friend says with a grain of salt.

    Those system specs may be helpful as well.

    Are you serious? You give half the story and want a full answer. Its like saying, "Doctor my knee aches, does that mean I have cancer?" How do expect anybody to make comment when you can't even substantiate the story.

    I don' think that's it Matt. I think it's more that Guy has heard rumors on one side of the aisle and so now, he's looking for rumors on the other side.

    Neither of which will give you more than hear-say. Your best best is to arrange a demo and see for yourself.

    Re: nitris dx

     At the recent Washington demo, I sat down at both the Composer DX Nitris and the Symphony DX Nitris and did my level best to induce a crash or a freeze - never happened - commands were executed almost before I could even release pressure on the mouse or key. I was very impressed with the stability of both systems.

    "If others want to interrogate, please vote for bush."

    Impossible - he's already served full terms allowable.

    "It was a simple question."

    Actually you never began with a question - you started with a statement;

    "Already hearing reports of bugs and frustration from someone who worked on assembling a few of these..."

    Without anything substantial to back up this statement, coming from someone who likes Avid as you do, this can cause nothing but queries as to facts.

    You were asked simple questions about listing any reports... specs on the system (which would actually prove REALLY useful for those who are looking to DIY build of what to avoid), no-one was interrogating you.

    And having seen this equipment demo during the NYC presentation I can also echo BLKDOG and Larry's sentiments (having also come from the Meridien environment) that this system is rock solid on the approved systems running multiple streams, varying formats and a response that is as fast as much quick-clicking that your mouse finger can perform.
