I totally agree, its been an absolute nightmare in Aus in the past and I actually live in London now although am away elsewhere most of the time and i've always found Avid in the US to be the most helpful as they have the resources to sort the problem quickly.
It seems like other than the US and UK, help with Avid direct is fairly hard to find. I had an Adrenaline power supply die in Japan and the quoted price for replacement through Avid JP was $10,000 so we ended up getting a power supply sent from our contacts in Aus and it cost $350.00!! Thats I tidy saving of $9650.00 and extortion at its finest... Another reason to have assurance.

Aaron Ruig: I am also in the same boat, we updated from Xpress pro to Composer when the cheaper path Upgrade was announced in April. So we fall into the Upgrade Assurance Policy Path. Yet, once again, like every update we do, our dongle has an issue..... This seems to happen everytime without fail..... Yet we have issues having the problem resolved as Avid over here in Australia, exists, but doesn't, it is hidden away with no way of contacting them. You call the resellers, and they say call Avid, Ask for a number and they tell us we can't give that out. I emailed warrenty@avid.com and got an automated response, i am hoping i will get an actual response today, we will see.... Goodluck Cheers Aaron
