Has anyone run into this error. This is on a Playback transfer only. We need to send to airspeed, and send to an FTP. Ingest transfers from the airspeeds function perfectly.
On the transfer window of the Editor- : Error: Internal error in the DLL that sends media to the playback device
And in the transfer manager server window:
SEVERE: Transfercontroller Transfererror Error encountered in Session 1, [ASMP::SENDER::SENDCOMPOSITION<> Failed to connect to playback service]
We get this on an interplay transfer client with Interplay.
We get this on a stand-alone non-interplay editor with it’s own transfer server and client.
Workgroup transfers however, work fine.
Interplay Transfer 1.2. MC 2.8.1 / PC on ISIS 1.4

So, "Send to Airspeed" is fine, but not "Send to Transfer Engine"? It seems like data is reaching the Transfer Engine just fine, but the next stage of the transfer is broken.
What's the device that the Transfer Engine is sending to? This is an FTP file transfer, yes?
Can you FTP files to the playout device in general, via Windows FTP?

Send to airspeed is fine, and it is configured through the local edit client's tmclient.ini
Workgroup to workgroup is fine, the data does get to the TM server itself.
The FTP to the device (a flip factory or a Nexio server, we are trying both) directly works.
The FTP section of the Transfer Manager server is what craps out- and that's the section we need, as it has the DHM which re-packages the file as a flat MXF. If I could do a flat MXF out of the editor, I would, but they haven't seen fit to put that in the editor yet.
Anyone doing an FTP through TM at all??
Hey, Doc -
I am successfully sending from a NewsCutter, via a TM to a Flip Factory. I'm out of the office tomorrow (Friday) but I'll check it out when I'm back and send you some config screengrabs or something. What version of Flip Factory have you got?
Hi Jeff,
I've made this setup a couple of times now. I use FileZillaServer to set up and FTP account on the Flip, and then add that as a watch folder for a Factory.
When you create you FTP settings in the TM configuration, you specify an account name. Make sure to use Generic FTP to connect.
Let's just say you name you account "FF_ftp" and the hostname of your Transfer Manager is "tm1"
In "Playback devices" you'll then need to add:
tm1:6534/FF_ftp
Best Regards,
Kim
Jeff,
For what it's worth, here are some screengrabs of my TE config.

Enjoy. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the screen caps, and the info from everyone. It still is going nowhere, so looks like a ground-up server rebuild will need to happen.
grrrr!
Server rebuild cured it.
Grrrrr.
