Why I get during start MC 3.0 (just upgraded from 2.8) this message:

LogFile_ForMC::LogFile_ForMC()
Error [-16777178] unable to:
newLogFile -> OpenFile() failed

I cannot go throu this message. i don´t know what is wrong.

When you installed, did you uninstall the previous version and follow all of the instructions for cleaning out your registration as stated in the Read Me document?

 Also, what is your system configuration? (OS, system model, Avid HW, graphics card, storage, etc.)

Yes, I have all uninstalled as is described in instruction. I try it twice with the same result. If I try start Avid MC 3.0, window with uploading information is shown, ending at Configuring Digital I/O Subsystem. After this error message appears.

Previous version MC 2.8.1 was ok.

I have Win XP Pro SP2, no Avid HW (software only), graphic card NVIDIA FX560.

I tracked down the error in the source code. They app is trying to create a log file in the "Reports" folder. The log file lives in the My Documents folder. For example:

C:\Documents and Settings gonsalv\My Documents\Reports\AVID_VDM_log__00.txt

2. Click on the Reports folder and bring up Properties, Advanced

Thank you, by Debbuger I found, that Reports folder was mising. I created it and MC launched.

Now I have another problem occured - when I try open each project created in MC 2.8 (MXF) there is message: Unsupported resolution. Why?

Is the message in a dialog box or in the record monitor?

What is the exact text of the error message?

What is the format of the project? (i.e. PAL 25i)

What resolution(s) are you using? (i.e. 2:1, DV25 420, etc.)

Message is in dialog box:

Exception:Unsupported resolution

Format and resolution of all projects is 25i DV 25 420

It sounds like an installation problem.

1. Go to Control Panels->Add Remove Programs and uninstall Media Composer, FilmScribe, EDL Manager, MediaLog, and Avid Log Exchange.

2. Using RegEdit, Remove the following Registry keys on your system if they still exist after the uninstallation process.

HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/<productname>

HKLM/Software/Avid Technology/AVX Plug-ins

3. From the following folders, remove any folders that do not have custom data in them that you want to keep. If you do have custom data, copy the data to the new locations after step 4.

C:/Documents and Settings/AllUsers/ApplicationData/Avid/<productname>

C:/Program Files/Avid/<ProductName>

(Vista) C:/ProgramData/Avid/<Productname>

4. Install the new Avid editing application.

I did everything and reinstalled MC 3.0, but two problems (missing Reports folder and Message:Unsupported resolution) are same. I repeated creating Reports folder, but second problem I can not solve.

 After clicking OK in error dialog box I can play source material, but if I am trying play sequences (with filler allready inserted) or load filler error dialog bog (Message: Unsupported resoluiton) appear.

I think that problem can be in filler, but I don´t how can I solve it.
