I am trying to install MC 3.0 as an upgrade.
All goes well until it gets to the Medai Composer install process.
This fails with a message...
"The files for installation requirement: DigiAusiDrivers could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download"
I am able to install the DIGIAUDIOInstaller directly from the folder in the download, but Avid insists on doing it again during the upgrade. Once it stops at this point, it will not install anything else.
I have tried burning the download to a DVD and installing from there but still no luck. It seems that the installer cannot find the folder with the audio drivers in it.
Any help is appreciated.
Well, for starters, I'd re-download the installer.

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble! I didn't write the installer, so I will check on this for you, but I would try completely removing the digi components and then running the install. The easiest way is to go to add/remove programs and remove them from there, but you can also go to: c:/Program Files/DigiDesign/Drivers/digidriver.exe and run the uninstall. Then try the installer again.
There has been an ocassion where I have had to uninstall everything to get things to install properly. Hopefully you won't have to!
Best,Rob
I take it you read this CLICK (as well available in the readme)

Media Composer 3.0 installation error. "DigiAudio" Drivers missing.
I'm having exactly the same problem. I see it's been 4 months and Avid has not been able to solve this problem. Re-Downloading MC 3.0 doesn't solve this problem and yes, I removed the registry keys and all Avid folders. I've spent many hours trying to solve this with no help searching Avid.com.
Later, I was able to install MC 3.0 by executing the Avid Media Composer.msi file in the AvidMediaComposer_3.0\Installers\AvidMediaComposer\Disk1\ folder but that seems like very unprofessional solution for a professional software program. Would prefer an official fix and a reason why the proper install proceedure fails so that hundreds of others don't waste hours trying to fix this on thier own.

well... a lot of users didn't have install problems so there must be some local problem. It would help if you publish your system specs in your profile.

Count me in. I am having the same problem! Tried uninstalling the Digi drivers, but tha install still did not see the files. Tried installing the drivers manually, no change.
Many thanks,

I'm curious if you tried the c:/Program Files/DigiDesign/Drivers/digidriver.exe I mentioned earlier and if you have any unusual devices attached to your machine. I have noticed some machines really require a complete uninstall of MC, reboot, uninstall the digidrivers with the digidriver.exe reboot, and then install MC.
I've seen problems when a machine has a weird sound card or ASIO device installed. Otherwise the only times I've encountered problems is machines that had a Beta version or Protools installs which are older.
You can email directly if you're still having problems and I'll help where I can.

I didn't mention it, but I've been running MC3 successfully. This is happening when I try to intall 3.0.5. I also downloaded the software again. Same result.
As said before...
It also helps if you publish your system specs. Click on your name at the top of this page (after "signed in as:"). Choose edit profile on the left. Go to the second tab and start typing.
Detailed! Hardware: processor, memory, hdisks, firewire card, video card, sound card, mojo or not, etc. Software: what and what versions. Don't forget your driver versions. Especially the video card driver.
A lot of people are willing to help you but they do need some basic info.
Just to be certain, the download file is 1,038,265 KB?
yep it should be 1.036.265 kb
I tried doing the complete uninstall procedures of MC 3.0 (again, that was running care free) with no change. I tried burning the install files on a DVD in case the installer was programed to look on a CD, with the same result. I successfully installed the Digi drivers manually, but when I tried to install MC 3.05, the installer still can't find the drivers. I have no periferals connected to the computer during install. I'm at a loss for what else to do. What stats are needed other than the configuration I have listed in my profile?
Specs...you are having a problem with your audio driver install... what audio card/drivers do you have? Did you try the procedure Rob Ferguson earlier described in this tread?
Yes, I tried the Ferguson procedure. My audio card is Realtek, driver 5.10.0.5265. I have not had a problem with any previous version of MC. I can successfully install the audio drivers manually. The problem comes up when I try to install the MC protion of the install. I get this message, "The files for installation requirement DigiAudioDrivers could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or cancelled download." I tried downloading the file a couple of times, same problem.
