Upgraded to Avid 3.0 on my XP Avid (sp 2) along with QT 7.4.5. Exported a QT Ref, brought it into Squeeze 4.5.600.1 and upon imort Squeeze crashed. Tried it several more times, rebooted- all bad. Called Squeeze, told me to upgrade to 4.5.7. I did, still crashed. I even tried with a QT Ref that I did 2 months ago, still crashed. Now Squeeze wants me to send them files so they can replicate the problem (at least they are working on it).
My guess, is the new QT version. Anyone else having the same problems?
I would randomly guess Squeeze... MC 3.0 ships with Squeeze 5, so I would assume that version is required.

Mike,
I just had the same problem, Squeeze tries to open QT on startup and QT crashes.
The fix is to open QT, go to the settings section and look for the video parameters. Sorry, I’m not on the system now, but look for a “safe” mode somewhere. Switch the setting in QT, and Squeeze works.
You Sir, are a scholar! This is how this forum should work. Here's the steps:
It then works as it always did.
Thank you both!
Hi there, I having been having issues as well, I was in Media Composer 2.8.3 and used the send to feature, threw the files into sorenson 4.7 put in my settings, I am in animation so we work out of 24fps, anyway after selecting my settings, such as progressive for field order it says it doesn't have the correct codec. I used to use Sorenson 3.5 and had no problems. My work around takes longer but it lets me make my dvd's now, I export and uncompressed movie, throw it into sorenson, choose bottom field and then it will squeeze the file, rather quickly and it works. Like I said it takes longer but I am really frustrated with the whole thing, I also tried many different versions of quicktime...so I give up and do it the long way now!
Theres my story!
Cheers
Irene
