We'll announce it here.
I was so close to going through an OS (to leopard) upgrade when I really did not feel the need. I am glad I pay attention to these boards more often now that I am planning to upgrade to MC 3.0. It pays not to leap to fast when you have working systems.
Thanks for the information!
BLKDOG:Yes, it will be fully functional
That means with the DNA devices, right? Just double checking . .
Andy
Since the DNA FW bug only exists in Leopard, yes.
Do you really want to know what's wrong...or do you just want me to fix it?

'Den I be jumpin' for joy!
Just a quick question to clarify... Does all this mean that MC 3.0 wont even start with MOJO non SDI or SDI attached? or is it strictly limited to not capturing?
Does it initiate or is it supposed to initiate a Firmare update when it starts?
Please clarify both questions!
Thanks
(because it seems to be running (its been tested differently by us connected to a pyro PCE-e 64bit card (out of curiosity)) and MC 3.0 starts with MOJO non SDI attached in 10.5.2 although it didnt initiate a firmware update.
and DNA is seen next to the Avid name in the timeline
THANKS!!
Thanks.
No, it Launches and runs fine. The problem occurs randomly (And usually after initializing the capture tool) whereby the record monitor will suddenly go black with a warning about a device on the 1394 bus. The only way to clear this is to restart the CPU.
During Beta, I ran this way for about a month and had to restart 4-5 times a day.
I ran a Mojo and MacPro setup during Beta and for me it was like 15 times a day.

Hey BLKDOG,
This seems like a ray of hope and good news. It might be a way for me to at least see the client monitor and feed a signal off the analog monitor to some recording device. Do you think the following scenario could work?
1) Install MC 3.0 on my Intel Mac 8-Core
2) Plug in an analog client monitor to the mojo-sdi to see my 24frame project.
3) Edit from files that have already been captured elsewhere.
4) Tap the analog signal off the monitor and send it to my Slingbox for client approval ... or send the signal to my DVCAM deck with NO deck control and do a crash record.
Do you think I could have the client monitor running and not crash 15 times/day?
Thanks for all your help!!!!!
Kirk
Don't know Kirk. This error is extremely random. You'd have to test it for yourself.
FWIW - I have an analog Mojo and edit happily with the DNA button off (so it says 1394). When I want to screen for a client, I just restart, fire up the Mojo, and I always get through at least one viewing, usually a few more, on my client monitor without any errors. (At the moment, however, I'm working on stuff with a duration of less than 10 minutes.)
Awaiting the patch...
Hi BLKDOG,
Thanks. I have fear of downloading and installing 3.0, having it mess up my system, then not being able to download and install 2.8 again. Do you think that is an unreasonable fear?
Absolutely. I had 2.8.3 and 3.0 on separate internal drives in my Dual 3.0. When this issue drove me crazy, I just rebooted to the 2.8.3 partition and kept editing.
BLKDOG,
Cool. Currently my 2.83 is on my boot drive. If I install 3.0 on another internal drive can it share the same media as my 2.83?
Yup. Only difference is x.8.3 cannot mix thin raster and standard raster HD in one timeline.
Well, not the only difference but the major one in terms of media.
Hey BLKDOG, thanks for all your help! Here goes nuthin, I'm going to install 3.0 and see if I can run my client monitor without crashing all day. I LOVE the idea of installing 3.0 on another drive.
Cheers,
