Where is the upgrade price from 2.8? I bought my software less than a year ago so I'm not eligible for the free upgrade. When I go to the Avid store all I see is the 2.5K price.

Thanks. Where was the link on Avid's site. Was it obvious?
BLKDOG: One note of caution..... Users of Avid's DNA line should NOT upgrade to v3.0 at this time. Currently there is a bug introduced by Apple in Leopard that causes issues with FW devices attached to the CP (that includes Mojo and Adrenaline). Avid is working very hard to get around this bug and estimates that they will have it nailed down very soon. However, lack of cooperation from apple is making things move more slowly than anyone would like. Please be patient and a patch will be released ASAP. This problem does not affect MC Software Only nor does it affect the DX boxes.

Preface:
So I had an issue last night where Quicktime 7.5 was "accidentally" approved and installed on our G5 Dual 2.0 PPC runing OS X 10.4.11. That immediately caused Bus Errors at Main Thread...
I tried to roll back to 7.4.5 via Pacifist and that worked... But Avid still had the same bus errors. I figured that the "cleanest" way to roll it back correctly would be to do a new archive install of Tiger... So I did... I got back to where I was before Quicktime 7.5 got installed, but now Avid won't lauch at all.
I'm about to re-install MC 2.8 now.
On topic:
What's the status with the Mojo support and 3.0? And where can I find the most CURRENT and correct system requirments and warnings... (i.e. Will 3.0 even work on a Power PC... Is it Leopard only? I've been wanting to upgrade to OS X 10.5 for a while now)
I'm sure the information is somewhere, and I really appreciate these forums... But the info still seems spread about the site a little too much. I actually had started the download on 3.0 and then read the above warning about the DNA bugs... Also, I couldn't find the system requirements but I know they're always in the download package anyway.
Thanks!
mjc,
You'll certainly need to un-install and re-install Avid after archiving and re-installing the OS.
When we know, you'll know on the FW fix.
As for the rest of it... start here. This is the page just before you downloaded the MC 3. It answers most of your questions and points to the answers to the rest.

I updated the dongle and installed 3.0 on my 17" MBP with no hassles. I'm using 10.5.3 and QT 7.4.5. I connected my analog Mojo this morning for some testing and have found no issues so far. Deck control, digitizing via the DNA etc all fine, I was using a FW400 drive via a 34 card and also checked my SATA 34 card on my RAID and no problem there. I then moved media and project to my PPC 2.8.3 system and all good. Existing projects all read back fine in 3.0.
Now, looking at the software itself . . . what was that $295 for - an upgrade to Leopard? Maybe I need to look a bit more thoroughly, but there doesn't seem to be a LOT new in there . . .
steelborn:Thanks. Where was the link on Avid's site. Was it obvious?
Absolutely. At the front page of the Avid Store, to the left, there's a list of product segments. It lists Media Composer, and that brings you straight to the page I linked in my previous posting. You must have mis-clicked or something, I guess.

http://www.avid.com/products/Media-Composer-Software/features.asp tells us:
Just put 3.0 on to my MacBook Pro. Did a clean install of Leopard first. Good firest impressions - seems more responsive than 2.8. Lots of new little features (change the colour of the Timeline filler and marked I/O and segments - pity the last two can't be changed independently). Clear renders I/O - handy.
Strangely, I downloaded the installer from the US site on June 10th but didn't pay for the upgrade on the UK site until June13th. When I went to run the installer I found a dongle versoner file sitting in the same location as the installer with the same date and timestamp. I never had to use teh code I was sent from the UK site. Maybe I got a free upgrade and didn't realise?! No reason for this as I don't qualify under any of Avid's criteria.
Also, I'm convinced that I read on one of the sites that the download included a BCC updater (but not the other 3rd party apps) but I didn't get this. I went back to check and the reference (if it had been there) had gone. Must be dreaming
Just crashed with a Bus segmentation error with an Illusion effect.
More investigation needed.

Roger,
I also read that the download version included the BCC updater, but that was on the first day 3.0 came out (a day filled with confusing info) and it is no longer listed.
Is Avid fx now included in MC3 upgrade for free?
You'll need one of the physical boxed upgrades to get all the good stuff (inc Squeeze 5, BCC 5 and Avid FX, I think). I'm going to upgrade an Xpress Pro dongle this way as it looks lke a good deal.

Thanks. I got everything back and working... I'll keep an eye out for MC3 to be finished and working. I would like to upgrade this box to Leopard.
My whole problem stemmed from installing QuickTime 7.5 on my OS X 10.4.11 system running MC 2.8... Is 7.5 simply not approved... and where do I find heads up about those types of issues?
At the very top of this forums main page is a thread I started called, "Are you looking for a certain version of QT. In it, you will find direct downloads for every version of QT from the past few years, both Mac and PC. Further, next to certain QT version numbers, there are corresponding MC version numbers. Also... the read me is a good place to look for QT requirements.
