I just got around to installing the Sorenson 4.5 package that came with the 2.8.1 upgrade.

After the install, I do not have QT or Real Media in the presets list.  I am running the approved qt 7.2.  I find nothing from a search here or at Sorenson.

Our 4.5 installs at work definitely have both the QT and Real presets.

Ideas?

 I just checked a new machine I installed here a while back, also with a new Squeeze 4.5 CD and MC Soft 2.8.1.  QT and Real are both there.  Have you tried to remove and reinstall Squeeze?

Yes I tried an uninstall / reinstall.

We have now seen the same problem on other systems at work.  Don't know what the common thread is yet.

 I had the exact same problem with dsics from the upgrade package, emailed Sorenson and they kindly provided a link to download the app, which worked perfectly. Must have been some bad discs distributed.

Just a wrap up on this.

My problem is not unique.  There seems to be a license issue with some of the discs distributed by Avid during the 2.8 upgrade period.  At work we had about 6 machines upgraded at the same time I did my system at home.  All had the same problem. An email to Sorenson got new license strings for all systems.  All is good.

Gotta say that the email support by Sorenson has been pretty fast and good. Kudos to them! 

Not quite as good as Marianna, but she is the gold standard.

I had a similar problem, and a similar fast response from Sorenson.  In my case I thought that it was a problem with my new system build, but this post has made me wonder...
