When we import JPEG photos the color always seem to be "off" or very desaturated. When I import as a photoshop file I have no problems. A couple of our Lap tops do not have photoshop so we are having to work with JPEGs. Any suggestions on importing good JPEG photos?
Thanks!!!

a) jpg's are very compressed, you should use pict or png
b) don't import them, use Pan & Zoom

I agree with Kenton, use .pict or .png for better results. Pan and zoom is definitely the best way to go for best quality, but if you have to import it, be sure your color levels in the options tab are set for RGB. And if you do use Pan and Zoom, remember - that image file must reside on your system for the duration of the project. And if you should move the project from one platform to another, that file has to move as well and a path defined for it.

And if you're ever stuck without Photoshop, there's a very good free (donation?) alternative - GIMP -that you can download.
