Greetings,
I'm using MC soft 2.8. Everytime I use the keyboard command to advance to the next clip, the app snaps into trim mode. Is there a way to turn this off? Nothing in settings or MC help that I can find . .
Thanks,
Andy
Use fast forward and rewind instead of next or previous transition.

Hi Larry,
The only thing wrong with that is that it jumps to the next edit on any track, not just the selected track. The auto trim can't be turned off?
No but, you can turn off the "Ignore Track Selectors" function in your composer settings.

Thanks BLKDOG,
That worked for the fast forward and rewind function. But there really is no way to turn off that auto trim? I doesn't happen on MC Adrenaline 1.8, and I can't remember if That was the default or if I did something to get rid of it.
Thanks
Auto Trim when using the "Next and Last transition" buttons has ALWAYS worked that way. Since the meridian days. The function was different in 'Pro but not MC.
Those keys are built to jump you into trim mode. That's why the FF and RW buttons are there to do what you are wanting to do. Just gonna be some growing pains until you get used to it.
Actually, it's been that way on every version of MCA since the dawn of time. You do want to use fast forward/rewind to go to the next edit on the highlighted track(s). CTRL-ALT FF/Rew will go to the next edit regardless of selected track(s).
Alternately, remap the A and S keys with FF/Rew to be like a Xpress keyboard. (This is probably what you remember, or more acurately didn't remember, doing on v1.8x.

Son of a gun . .That's exactly what I had going on here. I used to have a guy on staff who set up and maintained all my Avid equipment. He must have made those keyboard changes. Now, he's working freelance, so I didn't call him in to install the MC soft upgrades. Thanks gentlemen!
