So, like almost every month these past years I open this month in prayer that support will come. A few movies we make are not cut supposedly ingested through FCP and converted to Avid or just edited in FCP. A few students are sort of unhappy about the whole ordeal. A few gave up and spent a lot of their parents money on renting a Sony Z1 or some other Sony camera. Two movies were shot in DV. Two edited with Edius, two with Premiere and Matrox.
It's been a painful two and a half years. So we wait. Now I hear that support is upcoming. Bring it on. I hope it's working well in the .0 version.
I still think Avid should give something to its sort of loyal customers patinetly waiting for this support for these three hugely popular and genuinely useful JVC cameras. I hope Avid is really - really listening.

After You have read this, why not study the spec. on both the camera and Your NLE for support and never, never, never, made any investments on promis about future support. Made investments only on delivered systems.
I convert all my JVC HD110 footage to Cineform Intermediate before importing into Avid. The results with Cineform are, for all intents and purposes, lossless.

Yes, I was young. I do not mourn my loss of innocense. I really thought worse case scenario one year to wait and shoot DV was okay. But my people have been glib before.
As for workaround, they are just that, workarounds. And of course, tedious.
