    Quicktime exporting issue

I just installed Media Composer on a new XP system. Everytime I try to export a quicktime using custom settings its gives me and exception error and I have to restart Avid just to continue working. I went to download the latest quicktime thinking that may be the issue, but it wasn't. Then I uninstalle and then reinstalled Avid but that didn't fix the issue either. Does anyone know why quicktimme and Avid aren't working? The other exporting options work fine. I didn't know what else to try.

Other quicktime files play fine through the quicktime program.

Check your QT version and driver version against this matrix to make sure you are running the right ones.

Hi, I am running the correct version listed. 7.1.6 but I still get the error.

Gosh, you could try a number of things.  What's the destination for your .mov files? Network or Local drive?  What's the running time of your program?  Do you have any other software running besides Avid?  Are you using "same as source" in your QT settings?

Failing that, is it possible you've got a corrupt media file? One way to check is to simply make Mark In/Out points on a small portion of your program to see if you can get it to work.  Of course, you may have to do that in a couple of different places to insure you don't happen to pick the spot that might have the corrupt media.

Unfortunately, there's much to consider (and troubleshoot).

    Re: Quicktime exporting issue

Someone in other thread suggested to turn off using the Directx and it solved the same problem for me in MC 2.8.1 and MC 2.8.3.

Go to QuickTime preferencies, Advanced tab, Video section. Then swith to Safe mode. I hope it'll help you too.

A couple of weeks ago II had the same problem with custom settings in QuickTime and checking the "Safe Mode" box in QT solved the problem.
